Neurosis is a dysfunctional condition with a wide range of clinical symptoms, but to diagnose the disease, the following five characteristics should be present: (1) Patients with neurasthenia have significant symptoms of debilitation or persistent fatigue. Such as often feel a lack of energy, depression, can not use the brain, memory loss, brain sluggishness, learning and work in concentration, work efficiency significantly reduced, even adequate rest can not eliminate the feeling of fatigue. When the whole body is examined, there is no physical disease such as hepatitis, and there is no organic brain lesion. (2) Any two of the following symptoms: ① Easily excited and easily fatigued. (2) Mood swings, agitation, irritability, worry and nervousness. (3) Tension headache or muscle pain caused by emotional tension. ④Sleep disorder. It is difficult to fall asleep, easy to wake up, and dreamy. (3)The above conditions have adverse effects on study, work and social interaction. (4) The duration of the disease is more than 3 months. (5) Other neurological and psychiatric disorders were excluded. In addition, when diagnosing neurasthenia, attention should be paid to differentiate it from other diseases that may cause similar neurasthenia syndrome. For example, chronic wasting diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis, rheumatism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, etc. often produce somatic and mental fatigue, which can be easily misdiagnosed as neurasthenia; chemical occupational poisoning due to occupational relationship is also often associated with neurasthenia symptom clusters as early symptoms; there are also chronic inflammatory diseases of the head, such as chronic rhinitis, chronic sinusitis, chronic pharyngitis, etc., which also often present neurasthenia syndromes. Therefore, a comprehensive medical history, careful physical examination, combined with the necessary laboratory tests, is generally identifiable.
