Neurosis is a neurological disorder characterized by easy excitement and fatigue. The main symptoms are emotional irritability, worry and tension, accompanied by physiological disorders such as muscle tension pain and sleep disorders. So, what are the specific symptoms of neurasthenia? (A) Mental excitement, mental and physical fatigue The patient’s mental activity is extremely easy to launch. Due to the low threshold of excitement, some minor or even irrelevant stimuli around the patient can cause a stronger or longer-lasting response, thus the patient’s attention is lax, involuntary associations and memories increase, and concentration is difficult. The stimuli that cause arousal are not always strong or unpleasant, but the unquenchable and unnecessary associations are distressing. Because the patient’s non-directive mind is in a state of active excitement for a long time, the brain cannot get the necessary and sufficient relaxation and rest, so the brain is easily fatigued. The brain feels sluggish, memory decreases, thinking is unclear, and thinking efficiency decreases. At the same time, patients also feel fatigue, sleepiness, general weakness and other symptoms of physical fatigue, even after appropriate rest or recreation is still difficult to recover. (2) Emotional manifestations of neurasthenia: Patients may experience some anxiety or depression symptoms, but they are not prominent or persistent. The prominent emotional symptoms of neurasthenia are irritability, annoyance and nervousness. Due to the lowering of the threshold of emotional initiation and the weakening of emotional self-awareness, patients appear irritable, including the tendency to get angry when slightly stimulated, and to regret after getting angry; the tendency to get sad when reading books and watching plays, and to get teary-eyed when moving; the tendency to feel aggrieved; the tendency to be indignant when encountering injustice and unjust winds, which can be tolerated; the tendency to worry, i.e., thoughts are incessant and confusing, feeling that everyone is unpleasant and everything is unpleasant; the tendency to Tension refers to unnecessary worry and anxiety, always feel the situation is not good, the situation is urgent, aggressive. (C) Psychophysiological symptoms Refers to certain physiological disorders caused by psychological factors, such as tension pain: patients feel heavy head, head swelling, headache, tightness in the head, or discomfort and soreness in the neck and low back. Sleep disorders: difficulty in falling asleep, not falling deeply asleep, feeling dreamy, and not relieved after sleep. Or you may be able to sleep, but always worry about insomnia or feel that you have not fallen asleep. Often, the sleep rhythm is reversed, with drowsiness when it is time to wake up and a clear mind when it is time to sleep. Other psychophysiological symptoms include tinnitus, panic attacks, chest tightness, indigestion, frequent urination, excessive sweating, or irregular menstruation.
