Can I get pregnant with bilateral polycystic kidney?

Patient: Description (onset time, main symptoms, hospital visited, etc.): Female, 28 years old, ultrasound detected bilateral polycystic kidneys, the largest has 5CM, the current blood pressure is normal, normal kidney function, normal urine, grandparents parents are no polycystic kidney condition. I have not been treated. May I ask Dr. Yu: 1. Can I get pregnant in my current condition and is it very bad for adults during pregnancy? 2. None of the elders have polycystic kidney, could my condition be misdiagnosed by the doctor? Yu Shengqiang: Polycystic kidney disease is generally divided into hereditary and non-hereditary, if you consider non-hereditary, pregnancy is not a problem, and usually will not be inherited to the next generation, but it is better to do a detailed examination again before pregnancy, such as blood routine, liver and kidney function, kidney CT, etc., to understand your current physical condition. If it is considered hereditary polycystic kidney disease and elders can be without polycystic kidney disease, then the diseased person is a genetic mutation newly developed hereditary polycystic kidney disease. It is better to do a kidney CT or MRI to help discern whether it is hereditary polycystic kidney disease, but without a family history, sometimes the discernment is more difficult. The biggest problem with having a baby with hereditary polycystic kidney disease pregnancy is that there is a 50% chance that it will be passed on to the next generation, but there is usually no major harm to the adults.
