Women should pay attention to cervical cancer screening

Cervical cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors of the female reproductive system, ranking second only to breast cancer in terms of incidence, and its incidence among young women has been increasing significantly in recent years. There are about 500,000 new cases of cervical cancer worldwide every year, of which 135,000 cases are diagnosed in China every year. Due to the serious lack of early screening awareness and low early screening rate, the incidence of cervical cancer in China is as high as six times that of developed countries. Cervical cancer is the only cancer with a clear cause, the only cancer that can be prevented and treated early, and the only cancer that can be eliminated among all human cancers. Clinical practice shows that the cure rate for cervical cancer is high in the early stage. However, because of the lack of early screening awareness and no obvious symptoms in early stage, 80% of patients are already infiltrating cancer when diagnosed, which is a great pity. Therefore, women should establish awareness of early screening and go to hospital regularly for HPV virus testing and cytology screening. For married women, advocating gynecological examination at least once a year can detect many problems. Popularizing cancer prevention knowledge, advocating late marriage and less childbearing, and carrying out sexual health education are effective measures to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer. Married women, especially those who have abnormal menstruation or bleeding during sexual intercourse before or after menopause, should be alert to the possibility of reproductive tract cancer and seek timely medical treatment. After marriage, pay attention to the hygiene of sexual life, family planning, insist on contraception and avoid multiple abortions. If the male partner has a long penile foreskin, he should insist on getting married after circumcision. Women over 25 years old should actively participate in gynecological cancer screening and have regular cervical scrapings to check for cancer cells, and actively treat chronic cervicitis.
