How long to stop taking Lipitor

Lipitor should be taken on a long-term basis as prescribed by your doctor and should not be discontinued without your consent. Lipitor, also known as atorvastatin calcium, has the effect of lowering blood lipids and cholesterol. Lipitor is a common clinical drug, which often needs to be taken for a long time as prescribed by the patient, and has a good effect on the control of high blood lipids, high cholesterol and cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, patients should not stop taking Lipitor during the medication period, otherwise it may cause hyperlipidemia and increase the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events, leading to serious consequences. If the main purpose is to lower blood lipids, patients need to combine it with a lipid-lowering diet. The current generation of Lipitor can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meal times, and care should be taken to monitor liver function after taking the drug and administer it on an individualized basis. In addition, if patients experience nausea and vomiting, insomnia, dizziness and other uncomfortable phenomena while taking Lipitor, they should go to the hospital promptly and adjust the medication according to medical advice.
