Is an endometrial polyp larger than 1 cm cancerous?

Endometrial polyps larger than 1cm are likely to be cancerous and should be given high priority. Generally speaking, if endometrial polyp is less than 1cm in diameter and there are no related symptoms, the malignant rate is relatively low and can be observed and followed up. However, if the diameter of endometrial polyp is larger than 1cm, the risk of cancer is higher, which may lead to cervical cancer or endometrial cancer, etc. In case of cervical cancer or endometrial cancer, symptoms such as contact bleeding, prolonged menstruation, menstrual disorders and abnormal leucorrhea may occur. Patients are suggested to visit obstetrics and gynecology or oncology department in time to clarify pathological examination and give treatment such as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy according to patients’ specific conditions to improve patients’ prognosis and life quality. In daily life, patients should pay attention to rest, eat reasonably, avoid overexertion or heavy physical labor, keep a relaxed mood, avoid long time anxiety, and strengthen physical exercise.
