Is the new coronavirus afraid of cold temperatures?

The new coronavirus is not afraid of low temperatures, but mainly of high temperatures. The coronavirus can be stored for several years at -60°C and is moderately stable in a suitable maintenance solution at 4°C. As the temperature increases, the resistance of the virus decreases, but a certain temperature must be reached and exceeded for a corresponding period of time to inactivate the virus. The new coronavirus is sensitive to heat and ultraviolet light, and when a temperature of 56°C is reached for 30 minutes, the virus can be effectively inactivated. However, the usual use of air conditioning to raise the ambient temperature cannot achieve the effect of inactivating the virus. It should also be noted that the sun’s irradiation temperature also cannot reach 56°C, and the intensity of sunlight UV light does not reach the intensity of UV lamps.
