  Novel coronavirus infection causes viral pneumonia, with dry cough, malaise, and fever as common symptoms, and a small number of patients with nasal congestion, runny nose, and diarrhea.  However, some patients with novel coronavirus infection have only diarrhea as their first symptom, and experts have found viral nucleic acid in stool and anal swabs of infected patients, and positive viral RNA can be detected in stool of confirmed patients. Diarrhea is an atypical symptom of novel coronavirus pneumonia, and personal protection should be done for the vomit and stool of patients.
