Uric acid normal value

In general, blood uric acid water is about 149 to 416 umol/L in men and 89 to 357 umol/L in women. women’s blood uric acid levels increase after menopause and approach the level of men. Uric acid is metabolized by purine, one of the constituent substances of the human body, mainly in the form of purine nucleotides, which play an important role in energy supply and metabolic regulation in the human body. Purine is the final metabolite of purine, which is finally converted into uric acid after a series of metabolism in human body. Uric acid in human body is 80% produced by endogenous purine metabolism and 20% from external high purine diet intake. The body has a self-regulatory function for uric acid, which can be maintained at a certain stable level, about 149~416umol/L for men and 89~357umol/L for women. After menopause, due to the decrease of the body’s ability to metabolize uric acid, the blood uric acid level of women will increase, close to the level of men, which is a physiological increase. However, if the endogenous purine production is excessive or the uric acid excretion is reduced, the blood uric acid level will be increased, resulting in hyperuricemia. If hyperuricemia is prolonged, it can lead to gout attacks. In addition, hyperuricemia is also associated with the occurrence of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease. Therefore, uric acid in normal people will be in a relatively constant range and gout is often associated with hyperuricemia, but it should be noted that there are more factors affecting blood uric acid levels, diet, medications, kidney disease, etc. Therefore, once elevated blood uric acid is detected, it needs to be reviewed several times. If it is persistently elevated, immediate medical attention is needed.
