As the hospitals where the TCT test is performed vary, the result time may vary, from about a week for some hospitals to about half a month for others. TCT test is also called cervical cancer screening. If women undergo cervical cancer screening in a large tertiary hospital, the result time is usually early, usually within a week, because the result of cervical cancer screening in a tertiary hospital can be directly checked and reported in the laboratory department of the hospital without sending it to other hospitals for examination. If a woman has her cervical cancer screening in a secondary hospital, the specimen of cervical cancer screening is often sent to other higher level hospitals for examination and report, so the time to get the result of cervical cancer screening is relatively delayed, often about half a month. However, if there is any abnormality in the cervical cancer screening, the patient will be informed by phone in advance so that colposcopy or biopsy can be performed as soon as possible to further confirm the diagnosis, and no matter where the cervical cancer screening is done, the examination method is the same, which is to use a small brush of cervical TCT to take cells locally from the cervix. It is also recommended to prohibit intercourse three days before and three days after the test to avoid affecting the test results or causing vaginal inflammation.
