What is acne?

Acne is a common clinical disease. Since the disease occurs on the facial area and damages the beauty of the face, the prevention and treatment of this disease has become a growing concern as people’s living standards improve. In view of the large side effects of Western medicine in the treatment of acne, Chinese medicine has a very good prospect for the development of acne treatment. The author believes that future research on the prevention and treatment of acne in Chinese medicine can be carried out mainly from the following aspects: 1. Further strengthen the research on the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of acne in Chinese medicine, and propose new ideas and new treatment methods on this basis. For example, the treatment of acne from the kidney to the liver is a very valuable topic for future research. 2. Strengthen the research on the development of proprietary Chinese medicines for acne. Since acne is a common and recurring skin disease that requires frequent medication, and people’s work and studies are quite stressful today, it is especially important to develop a medicine that is effective, easy to take, and has no toxic side effects. 3. More modern scientific and medical research methods, means and equipment should be used to explore and clarify the mechanism of acne treatment in Chinese medicine from multiple disciplines and levels, such as endocrinology, immunology, molecular biology, microbiology and pathology, in order to further improve the academic level of acne treatment in Chinese medicine.
