What does a cyst in the right lobe of the liver mean?

The liver is roughly divided into two lobes, left and right. A cyst in the right lobe of the liver is a cystic occupancy in the right lobe of the liver called a hepatic cyst. Hepatic cysts are common benign lesions in the liver, with congenital cysts being the most common. Depending on the location and size of the lesion, patients have different clinical manifestations. Smaller lesions usually have no clinical symptoms and are usually found incidentally during physical examination. Larger lesions may present with liver enlargement, epigastric discomfort, abdominal distention, dull abdominal pain, and if there is co-infection, fever and pain. In terms of treatment, small liver cysts without symptoms do not need treatment, as long as regular review can be done, if the lesion is large and compression symptoms appear, an interventional procedure can be done.
