What to do about swollen lymph in the neck in children

Once diagnosed, swollen lymph nodes in the neck in children need to be treated aggressively.

If the swollen lymph nodes are due to an infection, give sensitive antibiotics to treat it. The swollen lymph nodes caused by infection also need to be completely cured by improving the diet, reducing the intake of high-calorie foods, and giving the child regular water.

If the swollen lymph nodes are due to an immune system disorder, such as lupus erythematosus, they need to be treated with glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants, commonly used drugs such as prednisone tablets and cyclophosphamide. When swollen lymph nodes in the neck in children are considered to be lymph node tuberculosis, treatment is curable with anti-tuberculosis therapy.

If the enlarged lymph nodes are due to a malignant tumor, such as leukemia, they need to be treated with aggressive chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy, and a standardized treatment plan should be developed. However, the prognosis for this type of lymph node enlargement, even with treatment, is relatively poor.
