Kidney stones have no fixed size and vary in size, from small ones around 1mm to large ones up to 2cm or more, or even filling the whole kidney. The size of kidney stones is related to the length of time they take to form. The longer the stone formation time, the larger the size may be. If the stones are small and there is no obstruction, they can be discharged by drinking more water and exercising more. Once the stones are large and accompanied by severe hydronephrosis, they can be treated by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy or minimally invasive surgery to remove the stones. The occurrence of kidney stones is related to poor daily eating habits and low water intake. It is recommended to drink more water in daily life, urinate more, increase exercise appropriately to be able to discharge small stones out of the body by yourself, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables in the diet, and eat less food rich in calcium and oxalic acid, which can easily lead to the appearance of stones.
