Condyloma acuminatum and photodynamic

Condyloma acuminatum (CA) is an epidermolysis bullosa-like growth in the genital, perineal and anal areas caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, and is the most common sexually transmitted disease worldwide. Recurrent episodes are one of the characteristics of the disease, especially urethral condyloma acuminatum is difficult to treat. In the past, ordinary laser treatment was generally used, but the treatment was painful for the patient, the recovery after treatment was slow, and it was easy to produce urethral scarring and lead to stricture. The actual 5-Amino ketovaleric acid (5-aminolevulinic,ALA) photodynamic therapy (PDT), referred to as Ala photodynamic therapy (ALA-PDT), is a joint application of photosensitizers and the corresponding light source, through the photodynamic reaction selective destruction of lesion tissue of a new technology. Features of this technology: 1. Good selectivity. As the photosensitizer (Aila) is mainly with the abnormal proliferation of tissue that is highly combined with warts, so receive a specific wavelength of laser local irradiation, the laser energy can selectively destroy the lesion tissue, and the normal tissue around the lesion damage is minimal. 2, small trauma. As the treatment is highly selective, can avoid and significantly reduce the surgery and other laser treatment caused by trauma and pain, and no ulcers and scars formed. 3.Less pain. No obvious pain during treatment. 4.It can eliminate the hidden lesions (subclinical infection), and the recurrence rate is low. 5, repeatable treatment, lesion cells will not produce resistance to photosensitive drugs. Treatment process: 1, local routine disinfection → dressing Ira (ALA) for 3 hours → 635nm PDT laser treatment instrument local irradiation 20min. 2, local topical antibiotics to prevent infection.
