Clinical symptoms, tongue and pulse are needed to determine whether it is kidney yin deficiency or kidney yang deficiency.
1. Clinical symptoms: Kidney yin deficiency is characterized by soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, dizziness and tinnitus, insomnia and forgetfulness, heart-heat (heat in the hearts of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of the heart and chest), hot flashes and night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep, but sweating stops after waking up), and other main symptoms.
Kidney Yang Deficiency is characterized by coldness, cold limbs, frigidity of libido, long and clear urine, and loose stools.
2. Tongue and pulse manifestations. Kidney yin deficiency is characterized by a red tongue, little fluid, no or little moss, and a fine pulse (the pulse becomes narrower, thinner and faster); while kidney yang deficiency is characterized by a pale tongue, white slippery moss, and a fine, weak or sluggish pulse.
These are the main ways to determine kidney yin deficiency and kidney yang deficiency. If you experience any discomfort, you need to seek medical treatment in a timely manner.
