Acupuncture treatment for peripheral facial palsy has been widely used as one of the effective treatments, recognized by the academic community and accepted by the majority of patients, and has a greater health and economic value. Compared with western medicine with proven efficacy such as oral hormones and neurotrophic agents, the total effective rate of acupuncture therapy is more advantageous, up to 80%~90%; in general, it can be cured after 2~3 courses of treatment, and is safe and without side effects. Therefore, acupuncture treatment for peripheral facial paralysis has been listed as one of the advantages of acupuncture treatment.
