What does the TCM doctor tell you about double vision (diplopia)?

Seeing things with heavy shadows is called visual disorder in Chinese medicine. According to TCM, double vision is due to the lack of essence gathered in the eyes, as well as the presence of phlegm, heat, silt, food, dampness, depression and other evils obstructing the chakra connected to the eyes, resulting in the loss of coordination of the eyes, the dispersion of the essence of the eyes, and the impairment of the normal function of seeing things. It is written in the Spiritual Pivot and the Treatise on Dazedness: “If the evil in the essence does not compare with the essence in the eye, the essence will be dispersed, and if the essence is dispersed, the vision will be disoriented, and the vision will be disoriented to two things”. Chinese medicine also believes that evil qi takes advantage of the lack of positive qi in the body to invade the brain from the neck, so that the essence of the internal organs cannot be infused into the eye system, and the essence of the eye system is dissipated, so that normal function is impaired and double vision appears. If not diagnosed in time and treated actively, it can develop to the extent that the eye is fixed and does not move. You can often see that the eyes are normal in appearance, and the eyeballs turn freely, but the vision is hazy, often seeing black flowers in the air, and seeing one thing as two or three. If the disease is not treated or mistreated, the eye will become cloudy in flakes or the eye will be displaced, often accompanied by pain in the head and eyes, red and swollen white eyes, and the eye will not turn or be fixed and cannot move.
