What are the symptoms of allergic edema

Allergic edema, if present on the head and face, usually results in itching of the scalp or a very pronounced swelling of the face, and if it affects the eyelids, the eyelids may be visibly swollen, and in some patients the eyelids may not open and they may not be able to see. There may also be edema of the upper lip, and the symptoms are mainly itchy. If it appears on the whole body or extremities, there may be a generalized urticarial or papular rash, and the symptoms are mainly itchy. If the rash is on the palms of the hands or feet, there is usually no rash, but there will be localized flushing and swelling of the skin, and in the most serious cases, it may cause laryngeal edema and pulmonary edema, resulting in difficulty in breathing and general cyanosis.
