Papilloma of the bladder is a pathological histological diagnosis, and although it is classified as a benign lesion, it has a high malignant potential, with only 1% to 2% being truly benign, and its etiology is not fully understood. In addition, the disease has a tendency to recur, with a recurrence rate of up to 60% in those with multiple tumours and approximately 33% in patients with a single tumour. Therefore, electrocautery or surgical excision should be performed promptly after definitive diagnosis.
