A few days of rest after a cunnoscopy

Colposcopy is by far the more routine test and if no condition is found during the test, the patient will only need to take a day off work. However, if a cervical biopsy is performed during the examination, it is best for the patient to take three days off work. Colposcopy is the direct observation of cervical epithelial lesions with the help of a colposcope and is mainly used to screen for cervical lesions. If the physician finds an abnormality, a biopsy is usually required for pathological examination and the patient is advised to take three days off because of the damage to the cervix after the biopsy. In addition, patients should also be aware that when performing colposcopy, they should go to the hospital 24 hours after taking the biopsy to remove the gauze used to stop bleeding in the vagina; they should also observe the amount of vaginal bleeding, keep the vulva clean and go to the hospital promptly if there is more bleeding. In addition, the patient can wash the vulva with warm water every day, but not the vagina; and no sexual intercourse is allowed for 15 days after the operation.
