What does it mean when blood flow signals are visible in a thyroid nodule?

The presence of blood flow signals in the thyroid nodule indicates that the nodule has significant or good feeding vessels. For solitary nodules, if there is calcification around the lesion, further enhancement CT and, if necessary, ultrasound-guided nodule aspiration for pathological examination should be performed, unless malignant. If the nodule is confirmed to be malignant, surgery should be promptly chosen for radical excision. In the case of multiple nodules, it is more likely that the disease is benign and can be followed up and observed regularly. Because the thyroid gland itself is rich in blood supply, there are also obvious blood vessels and blood flow signals. Therefore, for multiple nodules, color ultrasound of the thyroid should be performed regularly. If the nodules are secondary to hyperthyroidism, further thyroid function measurements are required, as hyperthyroidism may also show significant blood flow signals, and surgery may be an option if necessary.
