The cure rate of penile cancer is related to the tumor stage and the patient’s own condition. The cure rate of penile cancer in early stage can reach 70%~80%, while the cure rate of advanced penile cancer is lower. Clinical treatment is mainly based on surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Penile cancer refers to malignant tumors originated from penile skin, mucous membrane of prepuce inner plate, head of penis and coronal sulcus. Most penile cancers are of low malignant degree and have a high cure rate. According to clinical data, the cure rate of early stage penile cancer can be as high as 70% to 80%. While the five-year survival rate of patients with advanced penile cancer with inguinal lymph node metastasis is only 20% to 30% after effective treatment. The common treatments for penile cancer nowadays include circumcision, localized lesion excision, glans excision, Mohs’ microsurgery and other surgical treatments, as well as local radiation therapy and systemic chemotherapy.
