Is there a high cure rate for cervical cancer? Early detection is the key!

The causes of cervical cancer are complex, roughly related to viral infection, sex hormone and endocrine disorders, unclean sexual behavior and many other complex factors. Some of them are sensitive to chemotherapy, such as choriocarcinoma; some can be treated mainly by surgery, such as cervical cancer and vaginal cancer; and some are more lingering and difficult to cure, such as malignant ovarian tumors. These tumors are similar to breast cancer, most of them have some correlation with sex hormone levels such as estrogen and progesterone, so the treatment should consider the regulation of sex hormone levels and the balance between different sex hormones, which can be done with the help of western medicine, but western medicine often misses the mark. Overall treatment Surgery is mainly used for early stage cervical cancer. The scope of surgery can be decided according to the depth of infiltration, tumor size, stage, pathological type, age and general condition, etc., and different surgical procedures can be selected. Radiotherapy is also the main treatment for cervical cancer. Early-stage cervical cancer can receive satisfactory results from either surgery or radiotherapy. Chemotherapy is mainly used for the comprehensive treatment of middle and late stage cervical cancer. However, the efficacy of chemotherapy for cervical cancer is uncertain, but in recent years, with the introduction of new drugs and the combination of drugs, it has certain palliative effect on the advanced stage with extensive metastasis or recurrence. Chinese medicine treatment is applicable to the whole treatment period of cervical cancer. For early and middle stage cervical cancer, surgery and radiotherapy should be the main treatment, together with Chinese medicine to reduce toxicity and increase effectiveness; for advanced stage cervical cancer patients, Chinese medicine should mainly support the righteousness, and improve the body’s own anti-cancer ability by eliminating evil and inhibiting cancer, change the patient’s deficiency state, and induce tumor cell differentiation and apoptosis in order to obtain the best treatment effect. The “zero toxicity and tumor suppression” effect of Chinese medicine can also improve the long-term efficacy of cervical cancer. Although the 5-year survival rate of cervical carcinoma in situ is close to 100%, and the 5-year survival rate of early invasive carcinoma is 95%-100%, the effect of middle and late stage cervical cancer is not satisfactory, thus the overall 5-year survival rate of cervical cancer is 59.8%. The longer the recovery time after treatment, the less recurrence there is. There is less chance of recurrence after 10 years, and most of them recur within 3 years. If surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are combined with zero-toxic tumor-suppressing Chinese medicine, they can suppress and kill the remaining cancer cells, improve the function of internal organs, strengthen the body and prolong the recovery period, thus improving the long-term efficacy of cervical cancer. Prevention and rehabilitation guidance In terms of prevention, cervical scraping cytology examination is the main method to detect cervical precancerous lesions and early cervical cancer. At present, cervical cytology screening is routinely performed as a screening tool for married women during gynecological examination or cancer prevention screening, so that the positive rate of early diagnosis of cervical cancer can be greatly improved, reaching over 90%. Pay attention to early symptoms of cervical cancer, such as contact bleeding and abnormal vaginal discharge, especially when these symptoms occur before and after menopause. Regular gynecological checkups are necessary for early diagnosis and treatment to reduce the mortality rate of cervical cancer. For rehabilitation, regular re-examination should be done. In the first year after treatment, monthly check-ups should be conducted; after that, monthly check-ups should be conducted every 3 months, and after 3-5 years of survival, monthly check-ups should be conducted every 6 months to 1 year. The longer the recovery time after treatment, the lower the chance of recurrence. Most cervical cancer patients will recur within 3 years, so it is very important to pay attention to follow-up treatment to prolong the recovery period and improve the cure rate. During the recovery period, it is also important to cooperate with food therapy. Patients with cervical cancer should eat less spicy food, especially chili peppers and hot pot, to avoid internal heat; eat less greasy and fried food to prevent dampness and fire.
