Does gallbladder removal have an effect on digestive function?

Many people who need to be hospitalized to remove the gallbladder due to gallbladder stones combined with cholecystitis or biliary colic often raise the question that the gallbladder is part of the digestive organs, and if the gallbladder is removed, it will definitely affect the digestive function of the body. This doubt is unnecessary and unfounded. The main reason why such a question is raised is that the real role of the gallbladder in the human body is unknown. The gallbladder only serves to store and concentrate bile in the body. It does not produce and secrete bile, but the real organ that produces and secretes bile is the liver. Bile is the substance that helps digest food. Removal of the gallbladder does not fundamentally affect the production and secretion of bile, and therefore does not fundamentally affect the body’s digestive function.
