What is a mucosal cyst?

Mucosal cysts are mainly due to the inflammatory reaction of the submucosal glands after irritation and trauma, and are not true tumors. Mucosal cysts need to be treated by surgical excision. Mucosal cysts are clinically known as mucous gland cysts, which are found in the lower lip, posterior molar area, and soft palate mucosa. For the cysts formed in the above parts, mostly due to lip biting, lip licking, or eating too hot, too hard food repeatedly rubbed and stimulated, for the mucous gland cysts of the lower lip, can be treated by surgical excision under local anesthesia, and these mucous gland cysts of the lower lip are more common in children, soft palate, molar posterior area cysts, relatively small can be observed.
