Mucosal cysts are mainly due to the inflammatory reaction of the submucosal glands after irritation and trauma, and are not true tumors. Mucosal cysts need to be treated by surgical excision. Mucosal cysts are clinically known as mucous gland cysts, which are found in the lower lip, posterior molar area, and soft palate mucosa.
