How to reduce nausea from methotrexate

Methotrexate, as a common drug for rheumatoid treatment, often causes distress and headache due to the side effects of nausea after taking the drug. Methotrexate nausea, for some patients, and even show a peculiar neurotic “psychological allergy”, once you see the pills, once you see the bottle, once you mention the name, and even once you see the yellow color, it is reflexively nauseous – I used to be like that, years ago when using it, every time you take it is my mother quietly I swallowed it with my eyes closed. Then I stayed in bed all day the next day, covered up, and stayed honest, eating very little, with a nauseous stomach. On the third day, I was almost back to normal and ate well. In order to deal with the nausea of methotrexate, rheumatoid patients also show their abilities, each have high tricks, such as, after taking the drug containing fruit candy, eating a certain fruit, taking the drug in the middle of the meal, wrapped with bun skin before taking …….. The black cat and the white cat are good at catching mice, and there are ways to reduce the side effects of nausea that do not exist. On this occasion with methotrexate, I also found ways to deal with nausea. One: Eat green leafy vegetables. I take my medication after dinner, so I must eat green leafy vegetables for dinner, like spinach and sea green, which are very common and have no obvious seasonal restrictions, and can be easily bought in winter. These green leafy vegetables are rich in folic acid. Do up a light stir-fry, do not fry too lightly, cook some. Also eat light, easily digestible food and a light diet the next day. Two: Keep warm. You need to pay special attention to keeping warm after taking the medicine, especially in the stomach. I found that if I feel cold, I tend to have stomach discomfort and nausea. Once I had severe nausea and vomited all over the place after taking methotrexate because I didn’t pay attention to keeping warm. In my opinion, keeping warm is the most important thing to do after taking methotrexate. Not only should you wear warm clothes, but also eat and drink water that is not warm and cold, preferably hot. You need to pay extra attention to this in winter. Now I no longer have those things I had before about the side effects of methotrexate nausea. The digestive function of the gastrointestinal tract has not been affected either. I once heard from my doctor that the side effects of methotrexate nausea are generally not organic to the stomach, just unpleasant symptoms of nausea. In fact, the symptom of nausea varies completely from person to person, and some patients who take it do not feel it. In the first month of taking methotrexate, there was a significant decrease in menstrual flow, in the second month, it was delayed for 2 weeks, and in the third month, it was basically normal. Some people believe that methotrexate does not affect menstruation, but others believe that it can affect menstruation, usually by reducing the amount of menstruation or delaying it. I have had patients who have had their periods delayed and then normalized when they stopped taking the drug. If you experience amenorrhea, you should always seek medical advice, not necessarily because of methotrexate. Of course, the most important thing to do when taking methotrexate is to monitor the side effects of the drug as requested by your doctor, so I won’t go into details here.
