Cataract extracapsular extraction

Extracapsular cataract extraction: This is a microsurgical procedure performed under coaxial light illumination. The main advantage of extracapsular cataract extraction is that the posterior capsule is preserved, which facilitates the implantation and fixation of IOLs and is suitable for adults with nuclear cataract. Currently, extracapsular extraction and IOL implantation are the main surgical procedures in developed regions.

Postoperative precautions: 1. Thoughtfully, don’t think that everything is fine after surgery. You should strengthen observation and pay attention to whether there is any pain in the operated eye, whether the IOL position is skewed or dislocated, whether there is inflammatory exudation in the anterior segment of the eye, and whether the iris and pupil are adherent. After the surgery, go to the hospital once a week for examination, including visual acuity, IOL and fundus. 1 month later, follow the doctor’s instructions and review regularly.

2, 3 months after surgery should avoid strenuous exercise, especially low head movement, avoid overexertion and prevent cold.

3.Please use hormonal and antibiotic eye medication several times a day for 1 month after surgery, and follow the doctor’s instructions to use weak pupil dilating eye medication to prevent pupil adhesion. For long-term full use of hormonal eye drugs, attention should be paid to the intraocular pressure to avoid hormonal glaucoma.

4.Keep the bowel movement smooth, eat less stimulating food, avoid smoking and alcohol, and eat more fruits and vegetables.

5, 3 months after surgery should go to the hospital routine examination, and refractive examination, there are refractive changes can be corrected by optometry prescription. Generally, you can work and study normally after 1 month.
