How many times a day is diarrhea?

Generally stools within three bowel movements a day is normal, such as more than three bowel movements in a day, belong to diarrhea. Patients with diarrhea have thin feces, increased water content, more than 200g of stool per day, or contain undigested food or pus, blood, or mucus.
The number of bowel movements and the texture of the stool should be taken into account to determine whether diarrhea is present. If symptoms such as thin stools and abdominal pain and discomfort are present, active treatment is needed.
