The Department of Neurology of Baotou First Affiliated Hospital is a key discipline of Baotou City, a key construction department of the hospital, and a master’s degree authorization point of the Ministry of Education of China. The department’s scope of treatment includes: various cerebrovascular diseases, including cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack; headache and dizziness diseases, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, intracranial infectious diseases such as encephalitis and meningitis, demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, sleep disorders, depression and anxiety disorders, myopathies such as myasthenia gravis, and related diseases involved in neurology.
Professor Wu Li’e, the leader of the department, has a master’s degree in medicine, a master’s degree supervisor, a member of the Chinese Physicians Association, the Chinese and Western Medicine Branch, a member of the Inner Mongolia Medical Association Neurology Branch, a member of the Inner Mongolia Medical Association Medical Accident Identification Expert Group, a member of the Inner Mongolia Essential Drugs Expert Group, and an editorial board member of core journals. He has participated in nearly 30 research projects, including 5 international collaborative projects, 1 National Natural Science Foundation of China project, 5 National 12th Five-Year Plan projects, 2 Baotou Science and Technology Foundation projects, 1 Inner Mongolia Education Department project, and other national/provincial projects. His scientific research project “Study on the relationship between the etiology and prognosis of TOAST in ischemic stroke” is at the leading level in China. He was invited to participate in the Cochrane Collaboration meeting held in Ottawa in 2004. She has published 36 papers and co-edited 5 monographs.
