How many years can you live after meningioma surgery?

The survival time of patients after meningioma surgery is related to the nature of the tumor and the patient’s physical condition, and cannot be generalized. Clinically, meningiomas can be divided into benign meningiomas and malignant meningiomas. If the meningioma is benign, the patient’s body can tolerate the surgery and it can be completely removed by surgery and cured after removal. However, because of the special location of meningioma growth, some meningiomas cannot be completely excised and may recur after surgery. If the patient is not able to cooperate with the second surgery in time after the recurrence, the survival time frame will be affected. Malignant meningiomas are not easily excised and are prone to recurrence, and their prognosis is poor. The average survival period for patients with meningioma is 9 years, and the 10-year postoperative survival rate is 43%-78%. Patients with meningioma are advised to have a postoperative review once a year or 2-3 years for early detection of recurrence and early treatment.
