How long does it take to recover from meningioma surgery?

The recovery time after meningioma surgery depends mainly on the size and location of the meningioma as well as the difficulty of surgical operation and the degree of adhesion between the tumor and brain tissue, and cannot be generalized. Meningiomas are derivatives in the meningeal space within the skull, most of which are benign and treated mainly by surgical excision. If the meningioma is superficial, close to the cerebral epidermis, and the tumor is small, the recovery is usually fast after surgery, usually within 1 month. If the location of the lesion is deep and large, the nearby nerve function will be damaged and the patient may experience complications after surgery, and the limb movement function may be affected, and the recovery time is usually longer, with some patients taking 3-6 months to recover. In addition, on the first day after meningioma surgery, patients need to have a cranial CT scan to observe whether there is bleeding, edema or infarction and drainage tubes in the brain.
