How to distinguish insomnia from neurosis?

Insomnia is the most common of the sleep disorders. Insomnia refers to the difficulty of falling asleep, easy to wake up and wake up early in the middle of sleep, low quality of sleep, significantly reduced sleep time, and some serious patients also stay awake all night. Thirty-four-year-old Mr. Shao, a key middle school math teacher, was not good at words, not sociable, he took up some administrative work this semester. Faced with the delicate relationship between superiors and subordinates and those who are not used to see, Mr. Shao felt very distressed. Recently, he has been suffering from insomnia, fatigue and dizziness. The school doctor prescribed a number of drugs, but after taking them did not work, had no choice but to take sleeping pills, almost every night can not leave it. Are you suffering from neurasthenia? Is not the inability to sleep a neurasthenia? The main cause of neurasthenia is the long-term stressful work, and these jobs are not too happy to do. In addition, the quality of the patient’s own personality has a lot to do with, not good at work arrangements, do not pay attention to the combination of work and rest is the direct cause. Patients with neurasthenia are mostly brain workers, they tend to be subjective about things, seeking perfection, irritable and easy to control emotions, easily agitated, concentration is not easy, memory loss, slow thinking, to analyze and think about a problem is extremely laborious, low work efficiency. The more this happens, the more they feel distracted, depressed and nervous. As for insomnia, which is a symptom of almost every neurasthenia patient, some people seek doctors precisely for insomnia. They often feel that it is not easy to fall asleep, they sleep a lot, and they wake up the next day as if they had not rested yesterday, and they are tired and feel miserable. However, it should be noted that patients with neurasthenia can have symptoms of insomnia, but insomnia is not always the same as neurasthenia and should be diagnosed in conjunction with other symptoms, such as lack of energy and emotional instability. Should neurasthenia be treated with medication? Neurasthenia is not a bad or missing nerve, nor is it commonly known as a “wrong wire”, but a functional disease, which can be recovered. The key to treatment is to have confidence. If you are afraid of the disease and have too many worries, you will recover slowly. “Confidence therapy” is a kind of psychotherapy, which can produce unexpected effects. The Soviet scientist Pavlov had done a famous experiment, he continued to give a group of mice with a mild and weak electrical stimulation, so that their brains are in a state of excitement, which soon appeared to be easily agitated, and then become unresponsive, slow, inactive, decreased appetite, etc.. Pavlov divided these mice into two groups, and one group continued to give stimulation, resulting in more severe symptoms, while the other group stopped stimulation, the symptoms quickly disappeared. Therefore, Pavlov concluded that neurasthenia is due to a long period of excitement in the brain, if the appropriate rest can be restored. How can people adjust and rest well? First of all, to get a mental rest, that is, mental relaxation, to learn to work in a rhythmic manner, what things to both take and put down. Second, to adjust the relationship between mental and physical strength. In layman’s terms, brain cells are in a state of tension when using the brain, while the muscles or cells of limb movement are resting; and when the movement, the muscles or cells are in a state of tension, while the brain cells are resting, so that “the way of literature and martial arts, a relaxation”, called the combination of work and rest. As a brain worker, you should pay proper attention to physical exercise, in sports activities, brain cells are rested and adjusted, which is a good way to restore nerve function.
