Self-testing for people at high risk of osteoporosis

  The following questions can help in self-testing for osteoporosis risk. If you answer “yes” to any of the questions, you are at high risk: 1. Have you ever hurt your bones because of a minor bump or fall?  2. Have you been taking hormonal drugs for more than 3 months in a row?  3. Is your height three centimeters lower than when you were younger?  4.Do you often drink alcohol excessively?  5.Do you smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day?  6.Do you often have diarrhea?  7.Have your parents ever had a hip fracture from a minor collision or fall?  8.Ms. answer: Have you been menopausal before the age of 45?  9.Men answer: Have you ever had no menstruation for 12 months in a row?  10.Answers from men: Do you suffer from impotence or lack of sexual desire as symptoms?
