The nasal vestibule, nasal cavity and sinuses are usually examined by the anterior rhinoscopy method, by looking at the surface of the nasal mucosa for erosive-like changes. It is also important to identify and rule out nasal tuberculosis, nasal syphilis and other diseases, and if so, nasal mucosal erosion can be identified.
A smear of nasal secretions can be used to check for abnormalities in eosinophils, and in cases of allergic inflammation, the test will show an increase in eosinophils and their distribution in piles.
