Multiple small cysts in the liver are not serious. Liver cysts are very common benign tumors of the liver, and most patients have no symptoms and are found during an occasional physical examination. Small cysts are generally divided into congenital and acquired, with congenital multiple cysts being more common and acquired cysts being mostly retention cysts, associated with trauma to the liver, tumors, and bile duct obstruction due to infection. Generally, the incidence of cysts gradually increases with age, and cysts are more common at 2-3 cm. Most patients only need to review ultrasound regularly to observe the changes of cysts. Therefore, for multiple small cysts, it is recommended to review ultrasound once in 3-6 months.
