Is it normal to have a headache after surgery for a cerebral hemangioma

Headaches after brain hemangioma surgery are normal, but they don’t happen to everyone.
There are two types of cerebral hemangioma surgery: craniotomy and interventional embolization. Postoperative headache after craniotomy may be caused by blood irritation, increased intracranial pressure due to cerebrospinal fluid circulation disorders, and pain from the surgical incision.
Postoperative headache after interventional embolization surgery may be due to blood irritation, increased intracranial pressure due to cerebrospinal fluid circulation disorders, and rejection of surgical materials by brain tissue. Generally headaches due to blood irritation and cerebrospinal fluid circulation disorders are more common.
In case of headache after cerebral hemangioma surgery, the cause should be identified as soon as possible and actively treated. When headache occurs, head CT can be reviewed to see if there is any new intracranial hemorrhage foci, and lumbar puncture is also feasible to obtain cerebrospinal fluid to see if there is any obstruction of cerebrospinal fluid circulation.
