The high mood of manic patients is remarkable, the patients have a “holiday mood”, their mindset is positive to the outside world, facing reality, pointing to interpersonal interaction, they are never satisfied with the ready-made experience and constantly in action to obtain new satisfaction. They are interested in almost everything in the outside world, full of curiosity and with a try-it attitude, so their attention is always changing, i.e., it shifts with the new things that appear. Their mental prolificacy increases significantly, their thoughts are fast and rich, and the increase in speech makes them feel that their mouths cannot keep up with their thoughts. They come up with a new idea at a moment’s notice, they have all kinds of plans to accomplish, and in fact they are constantly on the move and busy, people who can never be idle. Their words and actions reveal the effective use of their knowledge, skills and wisdom. Although not profound, but they do not lack of wit; although they can not see their own fault, he to e people’s mistakes or inappropriate is spot on; although listening to more you may feel too much nonsense, a short contact but people feel that he is an interesting character, funny, make people laugh, from time to time to play a little clever, and the rapidity of the association and the exit, often make people amazed. One manic patient said, “My brain is greased”, which speaks of his inner experience of mental acceleration. The above characteristics are most distinctive in patients with mild mania. Perhaps it can be said that mild mania is the most typical form of various manias. The more severe the psychotic excitement of mania, the more colorful the above-mentioned manifestations will be. When the condition is extremely serious (usually lasting for a short time), their speech and action tend to be monotonous and repetitive, and the additional symptoms of chaos are repeated, which aggravate the damage and loss of mental functions and make people have the impression that the whole psychology is incongruous or pathological. After treatment, the patient can enter the light manic state again, which is the stage that almost all patients with severe mania have to go through before complete remission. If the optimal mood of a light manic person is compared with that of a healthy person, the pathology of the former becomes more prominent. Optimal mood makes self-control and self-regulation much stronger, and thus more tolerant of others. The light manic patient, on the contrary, is prone to conflict with others. Due to blind optimism and strong opportunism (taking chances, taking risks), the patient is reckless of the consequences. Once interfered or blocked by others, the patient becomes furious and uncontrolled. The best mood makes the person socially happy and excited about the outside world, but always with the core of the inherent hobby, which serves the long-term goal, so that the increase in interpersonal relations and the increase in work efficiency form a virtuous circle. On the contrary, the manic patient monopolizes the conversation so that others cannot interrupt or have no patience to listen to what others say; his interests are too diffuse, which are contrary to his personality and profession; he has too many plans, which turn out to be equal to no plans, and he sees things differently, thinks differently, and acts rashly. In short, it not only destroys interpersonal relationships, but also wastes energy, and even achieves nothing. Mildly manic patients’ need for sleep is sharply reduced, and they do not feel tired despite excessive activities throughout the day. Perhaps, their life before the disease was rough, but at this time in their experience but left no adverse effects. There is no worry, bitterness or sadness, no anxiety or depression, not even frustration in his experience. It is amazing how often this mental state lasts for months or even longer. No healthy person, no matter how good his mood, can be compared to hypomania. It can be said that these experiences are the most characteristic of hypomania.
