Will fibroids worsen if left uncut for a long time

Fibroids are benign tumors that do not get worse in the long run. Fibroids are benign tumors, but the cause is still unclear and may be related to genetic factors, as well as physical factors such as ionizing radiation, X-rays, trauma, or abnormal hormone secretion in the body. Some fibroid tumors can affect the function of the organ itself and compress the surrounding tissues when they grow to a large size, such as thyroid fibroid tumors can compress the trachea and laryngeal nerve, causing dysphonia and breathing difficulties, and retroperitoneal fibroid tumors of neurological origin can compress the abdominal organs when they grow to a large size. Fibroids should be removed surgically as soon as possible. If the patient is resistant to surgery and no adverse symptoms such as compression develop, the patient can be reviewed regularly. If there is no change in the short term, surgery may be withheld, and active treatment may be instituted when changes occur.
