What should be noted in radiofrequency treatment for liver cancer?

Radiofrequency ablation therapy is one of several local treatments for liver tumors. To achieve a successful procedure, a careful preoperative evaluation of the patient is required: including liver function status (child-pugh classification), coagulation function, medications used, presence of thoracoabdominal fluid and infection, etc. During the ablation process, the best path and the appropriate RF needle are selected for the size, number and location of the tumor. Complications of the procedure are as follows: bleeding, infection, vascular injury (arteriovenous fistula, thrombosis, pseudoaneurysm, stenosis, infarction, etc.), pneumothorax, tumor seeding, local burns, liver failure, etc.
