Why is liver cancer the king of cancers?

Primary liver cancer is one of the most prevalent malignant tumors in the world. About 260,000 new cases of primary liver cancer are discovered worldwide every year, accounting for 4% of all malignant tumors. About 250,000 people die from primary liver cancer every year, among which China accounts for 40%. 1.Lack of clinical manifestation in the early stage of liver cancer, when clinical symptoms appear, it is often in the middle and late stage, and the prognosis is extremely poor, and the natural survival period is usually not more than 3-6 months. 2.Most liver cancer patients, especially those in China, nearly 90% are developed on the basis of cirrhosis of liver B. Patients with poor liver function or extremely poor liver cancer cannot bear surgical resection after the appearance of liver cancer. 3. The liver is rich in blood vessels, and there are hepatic artery, portal vein and hepatic vein systems, so hepatocellular carcinoma often invades into the adjacent vascular system, and blood dissemination occurs early. Especially hepatocellular carcinoma often invades the portal vein system and intrahepatic metastasis appears at an early stage. 4. Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma accompanied by hepatitis B cirrhosis may easily become new hepatocellular carcinoma after hepatocellular carcinoma is surgically removed or treated by other methods. Once liver cancer reappears after surgical resection or after being controlled by various treatments, the treatment effect is not good. The above characteristics of liver cancer make the clinical treatment effect of liver cancer poor, the recurrence rate and new recurrence rate after surgery or other treatments are high, and the mortality rate of patients in a short period of time is high. Therefore, liver cancer is called “the king of cancers”.
