The relationship between kidney stones and uremia

Kidney stones and uremia are two completely different diseases, but kidney stones can cause uremia. Uremia is the most serious complication of kidney failure caused by lesions in the urinary system, which is a generic term for the development of a disease to its final stage, rather than a separate disease, such as acute or chronic renal failure, or various types of nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, etc. If not treated effectively, it can eventually develop into the stage of uremia. Kidney stones can also develop into uremic syndrome if they are allowed to develop, resulting in massive fluid accumulation in the kidney, gradual thinning of the kidney cortex, and loss of effective kidney units. However, if the kidney stones are treated aggressively and the stones are discharged without causing obstruction in the kidney, they will not progress to the uremic stage. Only a very small number of patients can develop uremia, and this is often due to the lack of attention or active treatment of existing stone disease, and eventually develop to a more serious degree.
