Thyroid nodules are relatively common thyroid disorders in clinical practice, and the formation of thyroid nodules is not based on size to determine severity. For some benign thyroid nodules, which are actually slightly larger, if there are no obvious dysfunction, pressure symptoms, or cancer, they can be treated conservatively without the need for medication or surgery. For some malignant thyroid lesions, even if the formed thyroid nodules are very small, if they are irregular in shape, accompanied by sand-like calcification, or growing more obviously, such thyroid nodules are very serious even if they are less than 1cm or even 3-5mm, most of these cases are considered to be thyroid cancer and require radical surgery for thyroid cancer. Therefore, patients with thyroid nodules should have regular ultrasound checkups, which must be combined with ultrasound and other images to determine what kind of treatment the patient should take, and not to blindly decide the severity of the condition based on the size of the nodule.
