What causes pain in the cataract points?

The cataract points are located in the recesses behind the bilateral earlobes and under the anterior mastoid process. The causes of pain at the cataract points are mainly seen in localized lymph node enlargement and mastoiditis.
The main causes of lymph node swelling and pain behind the ear are infectious diseases, such as local lymphadenitis, gingivitis, mumps, lymph node tuberculosis and so on. Some patients with minor infections can subside on their own, while those who cannot subside on their own should go to ENT for additional anti-infective treatment.
In addition to pain behind the ear, mastoiditis can also be seen in redness and swelling behind the ear, swelling of the earlobe, fever and other symptoms. The patient should go to ENT as soon as possible for systematic physical examination, blood test and imaging test, and according to the result, anti-infection and local irrigation treatment should be given.
In addition, facial nerve paralysis, mumps, neurodeafness, etc. may also cause pain in the cataract points.
Discomfort symptoms should go to the hospital in time and be treated under the guidance of professional doctors’ diagnosis.
