Cataract day surgery ward procedure

Step 1: Ophthalmology outpatient consultation: the doctor will take medical history and examine the eye condition in detail; those who meet the indications for cataract surgery will make an appointment for surgery and be issued with routine checklist and preoperative medication.

Step 2: Pre-operative preparation: routine examination (cataract pre-operative checkup set, blood routine, clotting time, liver and kidney function, eight items before transfusion, ECG, etc.); pre-operative medication (antibiotic eye solution for the operated eye 4 times a day, point for 3 days; other personalized medication such as blood pressure and blood sugar lowering drugs).

Step 3: On the day of surgery: continue further preoperative preparation in the morning after hospitalization procedures; surgery at noon; discharge procedures in the afternoon after a period of observation.

Step 4: Post-operative treatment: review in the ward the next morning after surgery; use medication as prescribed by the doctor; get a review from the surgeon 1 week after surgery and adjust the medication according to the situation; visit the doctor for examination and treatment in time for pain and other discomfort.
