Concerned about men’s health, build family happiness

October 28, 2012 is the twelfth Men’s Health Day in China. Since the first Chinese Men’s Health Day in 2000, China’s men’s health education work has gone through twelve years and has achieved great results. In the past, most men did not have the correct knowledge of men’s health, but now men’s health knowledge has been basically popularized. Although men’s health education and publicity work has achieved promising results, the state of men’s health in China is still not optimistic. A happy and fulfilling family is supported by both men and women, and we still need to make further efforts on the road of promoting and educating men’s health knowledge in order to help the general public to better build family happiness. In order to better focus on men’s health, we need to have a comprehensive understanding of what men’s health is and the current state of men’s health. In terms of life expectancy, the fifth national census data shows that the average life expectancy of our population is 71.40 years, of which 69.63 years for men and 73.33 years for women, with the average life expectancy of men being 3.70 years lower than that of women, which means that men in China are generally more “short-lived” than women. In men’s health, we should pay attention to reproductive health, reproductive system diseases, sexual health and other organ system diseases. Men are facing a serious reproductive health crisis. According to domestic and international research reports, since industrialization, the number of male germ cells has shown a gradual decrease, the number of adult male sperm has been reduced by 30%-50% in the last 50 years, and the incidence of deformed sperm and dead sperm is on the rise. In contrast, the number of infertile couples has increased in recent years, which is not only a crisis of male health, but also a crisis of human reproduction. In addition to reproductive health, the incidence of male reproductive system is also on the rise, according to domestic reports, the prevalence of prostate disease is the first male disease, accounting for 1/3 of male outpatient visits, the incidence of prostate disease in men over 35 years of age is as high as 35%-40%, and there is a trend of increasing and lowering the age. The main prostate diseases that plague men’s health include chronic prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer. The disease has a high incidence, long course, painful, easy to recur, complex to treat and seriously affects men’s health. Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a common disease in middle-aged and elderly men. The enlarged prostate squeezes the urethra, leading to a series of symptoms of urinary disorders, such as urinary frequency and urgency, weak urine stream, incomplete urination and other urinary disorders, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. Prostate cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the male prostate tissue. In developed countries and regions such as Europe and the United States, it is the most common malignant tumor in men, and its mortality rate ranks second among all kinds of cancers; in China, its incidence rate is lower than that of western countries, but in recent years it has been on a rapid rise, gradually causing a huge negative impact on men’s health in China. Male erectile dysfunction, commonly known as impotence, is one of the main diseases affecting men’s sexual health, and about 1/3 of men aged 50-64 have erectile dysfunction; 44% of men aged 65-85 have erectile dysfunction. Although this disease is not life-threatening, it prevents the patient and his partner from having a normal sexual life. The inability of men to have a normal sex life because of ED will have a great negative impact on the physiological and psychological health of the patient and his family, directly affecting the construction of a happy family life. People often think that ED only affects the quality of sexual life of patients and their families, not knowing that behind the ED, there may be a greater crisis hidden. Vascular dysfunction is an important reason for the occurrence of ED, in other words, the occurrence of ED suggests the existence of vascular dysfunction in patients, which may be a reflection of some other health problems, or associated with the development of some diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, depression, etc. Therefore, ED patients in the diagnosis of ED, should be early to set the right attitude, early comprehensive health examination. Many diseases that seriously endanger human health have a significantly higher incidence in men than in women. The top three causes of death in China are malignant neoplasm, cardiovascular disease, cerebrovascular disease, the incidence of men are higher than women. Even in leukemia, which has a high incidence among adolescents, the ratio of male to female incidence is as high as 1.8:1. In the total population, there is no significant difference in the incidence of hypertension between men and women, but the incidence of young adults is significantly higher than that of women, and the number of men suffering from complications of hypertension is significantly higher. The ratio of arteriosclerosis between men and women is 2:1, and men have an earlier onset and more serious damage. In addition, the study found that not only women have a “menopause” stage in the course of life, the male population also has a “menopause”. Studies have pointed out that after the age of 50, men’s androgenic functions will gradually decline, especially the secretion of testosterone, and this change in hormone secretion in the body will lead to mental tension or depression, easy fatigue, memory loss, poor concentration, insomnia, hot flashes, sweating, decreased libido and erectile dysfunction. Male “menopause” not only seriously affects the daily life of middle-aged and elderly men, but also causes a heavy psychological burden to some middle-aged and elderly men due to the lack of awareness of male “menopause” in the society. Men’s “menopause” will bring a heavy psychological burden to some middle-aged and elderly men. The above-mentioned health problems are the main problems affecting men’s health in China, so what are the reasons for the unpromising health situation of men in China? With the continuous development of China’s social economy and culture, the quality of life of our people has been significantly improved, but the increasingly fast pace of life and the increasing psychological pressure have become two major “killers” of men’s health. As the pace of life continues to accelerate, more men tend to develop a variety of bad lifestyle, such as poor health awareness, lack of exercise, sedentary, irregular diet and so on. At the same time, men bear a large number of heavy social affairs, and men have a strong sense of responsibility for society and family, so men tend to have more mental stress than women, which brings a great burden to men’s health. In addition, the increasingly serious environmental pollution is also an important reason for the deterioration of men’s health, especially male reproductive health. In order to improve the health of men in China, we need to vigorously promote and popularize the correct scientific knowledge of men’s health, help men and their families to form a correct understanding of men’s health, and advocate men to establish a correct and positive concept of health care. As mentioned earlier, poor lifestyle and heavy psychological pressure is the main reason for the deterioration of men’s health, in order to improve men’s health, men should enhance their health and safety awareness, and gradually develop “regular life, optimistic and open-minded, reasonable nutrition, scientific exercise, combined with work and rest, entertainment, hygiene, cleanliness, early treatment of diseases, prevention-oriented “Good habits of life. A happy and happy family needs healthy men to support, learn the correct scientific knowledge of men’s health, establish a scientific view of health, change habits, in order to better build family happiness!
