Fibroids can get worse in a few years without removal

Fibroids are common benign soft tissue tumors that usually do not worsen without surgical removal. If the patient’s fibroid is relatively small and asymptomatic, no special treatment is needed, and a review once every 3-6 months is sufficient. If the fibroid tumor is large and affects the function of the organ itself or causes compression of the surrounding tissues, such as thyroid fibroid tumor, which forms compression on the trachea and laryngeal nerve, causing dysphonia and difficulty in breathing, then patients are advised to have it surgically removed in time. In addition, patients should also pay attention to a light diet in their daily life, consume more food rich in high quality protein and vitamins, and avoid spicy and stimulating food as much as possible.
