Are there any after-effects after scoliosis surgery?

Surgery for scoliosis is a relatively invasive and risky type of surgical procedure. So what are the possible sequelae after surgery? 1. Loss of spinal mobility. The purpose of the surgery is to correct the sequence of lateral flexion of the spine, after the surgery, it will cause the loss of spinal mobility, which will affect the mobility of the spine, which may have been curved, but after the surgery, the mobility of the vertebrae may change because of the orthopedic internal fixation device, so the doctor needs to make a consideration before doing the surgery to preserve a certain degree of mobility of the patient. 2. Paralysis. Scoliosis surgery has a much greater chance of paralysis than other types of surgery. With the development of modern surgical techniques, many tools are available to try to ensure that this catastrophic event does not occur. Examples include intraoperative neurological monitoring, navigation, etc. 3. Back scarring. For girls, there may be scarring on the back; if there are many segments, the surgical incision will be made very long, and this process will also cause some aesthetic damage to the girl.
