Fiberoptic bronchoscope (abbreviated as fiberoptic bronchoscope) is an instrument used to diagnose and to some extent treat bronchial diseases by using a light-guiding beam composed of tens of thousands of very thin fibers drawn from glass or acrylic resin with high transmittance. It has a very small lumen, soft and bendable, strong light-guiding ability, high brightness and clear field of view, which is an endoscopic examination technique with a wide range of clinical applications, enabling many diseases hidden deep in the trachea, bronchus and lung to be diagnosed and treated without physical trauma and saving patients from surgery. Due to the narrow airway in children, they cannot cooperate well and the high technical requirements of fibronectomy in pediatric clinical application, fibronectomy started late in pediatrics in China. In recent years, the number of cases of severe respiratory diseases has been increasing year by year, especially the number of cases of children with lobar pneumonia has a rapidly increasing trend, and the adverse consequences of lobar pneumonia are mostly: lung necrosis, pleural adhesions, lung tissue fibrosis, etc. In the past, the treatment of this disease could only be observed by replacing antibiotics, and a relative part of the children finally had to undergo surgery because of the adverse consequences such as lung necrosis. In the past, the treatment of this disease could only be observed by replacing antibiotics, and a relatively large number of children had to undergo surgery due to adverse effects such as lung necrosis, which had a certain impact on the quality of survival of children in the future. In 2010, the Department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine of our hospital, with the support of hospital leaders and various departments, established the pediatric fibrinoscopy unit of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zheng University, and carried out fibrinoscopy and alveolar lavage techniques. As the technology continues to mature, the Department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zheng University has performed fiberoptic bronchoscopy and alveolar lavage techniques for nearly 1,000 children with severe and difficult lung diseases, relieving their pain as soon as possible, greatly reducing the occurrence of adverse complications, and reducing the chance of being referred to surgery for surgical treatment. Indications for pediatric fiberoptic bronchoscopy: 1, pediatric tracheal and bronchial tenderness, congenital malformations of trachea and bronchopulmonary 2, severe infectious lung diseases 3, pulmonary atelectasis, pulmonary solidus, bronchiectasis, etc. 4, hemoptysis or blood in sputum 5, chronic irritant cough, recurrent respiratory tract infections 6, restricted wheezing 7, lung or airway diseases of unknown diagnosis 8, difficult tracheal intubation 9, mechanical ventilation of the lungs 10.Patients with tracheoesophageal fistula Since the establishment of the fibrinoscopy unit in the Department of Pediatric Respiratory Medicine of our hospital, more than a thousand cases of children with difficult and serious lung diseases have been diagnosed and treated by fibrinoscopy, and the scope of diagnosis and treatment will be expanded to carry out treatment and examination means such as foreign body clamping, brush examination and biopsy under fibrinoscopy, hoping to bring good news to more children with respiratory diseases in our province!
