For patients with stage III hepatocellular carcinoma, it is usually considered to be an intermediate to advanced stage of liver malignancy. Patients with intermediate to advanced stage usually have no chance of surgery or have developed distant metastasis and portal vein invasion. Therefore, for such patients, interventional embolization and perfusion chemotherapy should be preferred, usually for 2-3 times, and depending on the improvement of the disease and the patient’s tolerance, whether follow-up intravenous chemotherapy is needed. If the patient is financially well off, it is recommended that the patient undergoes genetic testing, where blood is drawn for genetic testing and sensitive chemotherapy drugs and targeted drugs are selected. The medications are usually sorafenib and apatinib, and the recommended period of administration is about 3-6 months. If patients experience upper gastrointestinal bleeding or vomiting of blood while taking the drug, it is recommended to suspend the drug and actively go to the hospital for examination before continuing to take the drug.
